Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a resin composition by mixing a saponified specific ethylene/ vinyl acetate copolymer with a epoxy-containing olefin polymer and an olefinic polymer and to obtain a laminate excellent in gas barrier properties, flex resistance and flexibility.
CONSTITUTION: The resin composition prepared by mixing a saponified ethylene/ vinyl acetate copolymer (A) of an ethylene content of 20-65mol% and degree of saponification of the vinyl acetate component of 95mol% or above with an epoxy-containing olefinic polymer (B) of an epoxy equivalent of 500-1000 and an olefinic polymer (C) in such amounts as to give a weight ratio A/(B+C) of 60-45 to 95/5 and a weight ratio B/C of 5/95 to 95/5. Component B is a random copolymer of an olefin monomer with an epoxy-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer or a polymer obtained by grafting an epoxy-containing ethylenically unsaturated monomer onto an olefin polymer. Component C is a polyethylene, a polypropylene or the like. This composition is excellent in gas barrier properties and has a markedly good flexibility, and a laminate containing a layer made thereof is excellent in flex resistance and drop impact resistance.
