Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition having excellent heat-resistance, strength, adhesiveness to plated layer, etc., by melting a mixture having a water content lower than a specific level and produced by compounding a wholly aromatic thermotropic liquid crystal polyester resin with an alkaline-earth metal carbonate. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is produced by melting a mixture having a water-content of <=0.1wt.% and obtained by compounding (A) a wholly aromatic thermotropic liquid crystal polyester resin, preferably a (co)polymer containing the monomer unit of formula I and having a melting point of >=300 deg.C, e.g. the polymer of formula II or formula III with (B) 5-60wt.% (preferably 30-50wt.%, based on the total weight of the composition) of a thoroughly dried high-quality inorganic filler composed of an alkaline-earth metal carbonate (preferably calcium carbonate) having an average particle diameter of 2-10mum (especially 2-10mum) and having low content of impurities (e.g. alumina and iron oxide).
