Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the impermeability by compounding an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer with an ethylene/acrylic ester/maleic anhydride terpolymer and another thermoplastic resin in such a weight proportion as to satisfy specific relationships.
CONSTITUTION: An ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer (a) having a melt index(MI) of 0.1-50g/10min at 210°C under a load of 2,160g and a melting point of 125-220°C is compounded with an ethylene/acrylic ester/maleic anhydride terpolymer (b) having an MI of 0.5-100g/10min and another thermoplastic resin (c), e.g., a polyolefin resin, in such a weight proportion as to satisfy relationship I and II to produce a resin composition (B) having excellent impermeability. A layer of the composition (B) serving as a barrier layer is sandwiched between layers (H) of a thermoplastic resin, e.g. high-density PE, with an adhesive layer (A) comprising, e.g. an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer, to obtain a multilayer structure having a layer constitution of, e. g. H/A/B/A/H.
