Abstract:

To provide a resin composition and an optical fiber cable excellent in fire-retardance and with little danger of generation of poisonous gases even in time of fire.

This resin composition includes 100 pts.mass of magnesium hydroxide, 35-65 pts.mass of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, and 5-25 pts.mass of melamine cyanurate. The optical fiber cable coated by the resin composition is also disclosed.
