PURPOSE: To provide a resin composition for a process release paper having excellent release property at high temp., lustre or the like and being used in making a synthetic leather from urethane resin or the like comprising a silicone-modified acrylic resin, an alkanol-modified amino resin and an acidic catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: A resin composition for a process release paper comprises 100pts. wt. of a silicone-modified acrylic resin modified by an organopolysiloxane of which 15W50mol% of an org. group bound to silicone atoms in a molecule is phenyl group and at least one of the remaining org. group is an org. group substituted by a hydroxy group expressed by the formula I (wherein R is a bivalent hydrocarbon group, a is 0 or 1), 15W150pts.wt. of (B) an alkanol-modified amino resin and 1W20pts.wt. of (C) an acidic catalyst. As (A), a compound having a structure shown by the formula II (wherein Me is methyl, Ph is phenyl, m+n is 30W1,000, R1 is an org. group and at least one of them is a group of the formula I, and phenyl group in total org. groups is 15W50mol%, R1 is methyl, halogen or the like) is preferred. As (B), methylolmelamine or the like and, as (C), p-toluenesulphonic acid or the like are preferred.
