PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel resin composition that is expected to be formed into a retardation film having excellent optical characteristics such as a high refractive index in a thickness direction of the film and a large out-of-plane retardation, even in a thin film state, and a retardation film having the resin composition.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a resin composition that has a specific compound and a polymer having a specific substituent, and a retardation film having the resin composition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
