PURPOSE: To obtain a resin composition excellent in mechanical characteristics, heat resistance and moldability and useful as automotive parts, etc., by compounding a polyamide resin with a specific PS thermoplastic resin mixture in a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: This resin composition is composed of (A) 5-95wt.% of a polyamide resin and (B) 95-5wt.% of a PS thermoplastic resin mixture consisting of (Ba) 5-100wt.% of a modified PS thermoplastic resin and (Bb) 95-0wt.% of an unmodified PS thermoplastic resin. The modified PS thermoplastic resin is obtained by modifying (Ba1) 100 pts.wt. of a PS thermoplastic resin with (Ba2) 0.1-30 pts.wt. of a modifier such as a compound of formula I (Ar is a 6-23C aromatic hydrocarbon having ≥1 glycidyloxy group; R is H or methyl) or a compound of formula II by using (Ba3) a radical initiator in an amount of 0.01-10 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the total of the components (Ba1) and (Ba2). Further, the component A is preferably nylon 6, nylon 66, nylon 46 or nylon 12 or a mixture of ≥2 of them.
