PURPOSE: To obtain a composition having excellent melt-moldability and capable of giving a molded article having excellent heat-resistance and mechanical properties from powder or pellet, etc., by compounding a specific aromatic polyestrer amide with a polycarbonate.
CONSTITUTION: The objective composition can be produced by compounding (A) 99W40wt% aromatic polyester amide having recurring units composed of an amide unit and an ester unit derived from an aromatic hydroxyamino compound, an aromatic dihydroxyl compound, and an aromatic dicarboxylic acid or its derivative, with (B) 1W60wt% polycarbonate. The component A is the one having an ester unit derived from 2,2-(4'-hydroxy-4'-aminodiphenyl)propane, etc., 2,2-bis(4'-hydroxyphenyl)propane, etc. and terephthalic acid, etc., and having a logarithmic viscosity of ≥0.3 in cyclohexanone at 30°C at a polymer concentration of 0.5g/dl.
