Abstract:
PURPOSE:To exfoliate a resin-covered layer over an inorganic type light transmitting element or a resin-clad layer constituting plastic-clad optical fiber effectively, simply, and with good reliability. CONSTITUTION:A plastic-clad optical fiber or an inorganic type light transmitting element covered with fluoric resin or silicone resin is immersed in a solvent, and resin-covered layer or resin-clad layer is exfoliated under irradiation with ultrasonic waves. This can be done simply with reliability in a short time without damaging the core of the plastic-clad optical fiber, or inorganic type optical fiber itself, and also without requiring skillfulness. Even though the applicable optical fiber is of bundled type, the resin-cover layer or -clad layer can be exfoliated easily with good reliability.
