Title:
RESIN MODIFIER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3394558
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a resin modifier which can contribute to the lowering of the surface electrical resistance of a synthetic resin and is useful for imparting improved antistatic properties, coatability, etc., to the resin when it is kneaded or mixed therewith or applied thereto.
CONSTITUTION: This resin modifier is used for rendering resin antistatic and comprises a block polymer composed of units of a polystyrenic resin of a number-average molecular weight of 1000-10000 and units of a hydrophilic polymer of a number-average molecular weight of 500-10000. Even when used singly in a small amount, this modifier can contribute to the lowering of the surface electrical resistance of a synthetic resin and has a persistent effect. Therefore, the antistatic properties, coatability, etc., of a common resin can be improved inexpensively.
