To produce with ease a resin particle having a complicated inner or surface structure or a resin particle having oddly shaped surface which cannot be obtained by a conventional method of suspension polymerization of a radical-polymerizable monomer.
This resin particle is obtained by suspension polymerization of a mixture comprising a radial-polymerizable unsaturated monomer and a polymeric compound in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator. in this case, the polymeric compound is a compound such that, with the progress of polymerization of the monomer, its compatibility with the above unsaturated monomer component decreases and therefore a phase separated state is gradually formed between the polymeric compound and the polymer derived from the unsaturated monomer in the resin particle during the suspension polymerization.
