Abstract:

To provide a resin for dispersing pigment effective for suppressing reaction of metallic pigment with water for a long period of time and presenting a coating film formed of a water-based metallic coating having excellent adhesiveness, water resistance and appearance.

The resin for dispersing pigments is prepared by copolymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (A) containing units expressed by general formula (I) [wherein R1expresses a 1-10C alkylene; m expresses 1-30 integer] and/or general formula (II) [wherein R2expresses a 1-10C alkylene; n expresses 1-30 integer] with other ethylenically unsaturated monomers (B).
