Abstract:
To provide diazaspiro[4.5]decane intermediates and salts thereof useful for preparation of spirocyclic compounds which are inhibitors of tryptophan hydroxylase 1 (TPH1), and to provide methods for preparing them.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for increasing the amount of acid salt of the (S)-isomer compound to an enantiomeric excess of 90% or more relative to the amount of acid salt of the (R)-isomer compound in a starting mixture containing both isomer compounds of the following formula, the method including reacting the starting isomer mixture with 2,3:4,6-di-O-isopropylidene-2-keto-L-gulonic acid to produce an acid salt mixture.SELECTED DRAWING: None
