PURPOSE: To enable a highly accurate detection of position by arranging several sets of windings on a stator and a rotor varied in the number of poles to output several sets of resolver signals with the rotation of the rotor.
CONSTITUTION: Stator windings 1 and 2 forming a bipolar resolver 8 are wound on a stator slot with one resolver construction and stator windings 10W13 and 14W17 forming an octapolar resolver 33 thereon separately. A rotor winding 4 forming a bipolar resolver 8 is wound on a rotor slot with one resolver construction and rotor windings 20W23 forming an octapolar resolver 33 thereon respectively. Therefore, a rotor 3 with a vipolar resolver 8 is mechanically coaxial with a rotor 25 with an octapolar resolver 33 and an rotor output of the bipolar resolver 4 is outputted as a signal L1 from rotor terminals R1 and R2 via a rotary transformer 5 while a rotor output of the octapolar resolver 33 is outputted as signal L2 from rotor terminals R3 and R4 via the rotary transformer 24.
