Title:
RESOURCE STATE MONITORING METHOD AND INFORMATION PROCESSING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3113857
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the method for monitoring resources of the information processing system as to various states exceeding a permissible range and the device for actualizing the method.
SOLUTION: A continuous count of a fault read is held and only when the number of reads of fault states exceeds a specific fault repetition constant, that is reported to an operating system to perform proper operation. If a resource is discriminated as a fault resource in advance and then an 'excellent' read is made, the resource identifier is changed from a 'fault' state to a 'intermittent fault' state. Consequently, when successive 'excellent' reads exceed a specific success repetition constant, the resource is excluded from the 'intermittent' state and the monitor process is carried on.
