To provide a rest device which allows a user to make preparation for using a toilet or taking a bath when necessary, sitting on a wheelchair and putting removed clothes on it even in a narrow room, which is attached to the wall of a lavatory or a bathroom so that it can be freely taken out or returned to be housed, keeping the equipment cost for the lavatory or the bathroom low without enlarging the floor area, and which enables a user of a wheelchair to operate the rest board of the device easily and safely.

This rest device has a rest board 18 and a leg part 20. One side of the rest board 18 is supported by a wall surface 14, and the rest board 18 can be housed on the wall 14 and taken out downward in the floor 16 direction. The leg part 20 is attached to the other side of the rest board 18. And the rest board 18 has a support mechanism 36 for supporting the rest board housed on the wall, as well as for stopping and supporting the rest board, moving either toward the floor or the wall, at an optional height.
