This restoring method for the out of road wheel of an automobile is processed as follows: A friction force generating means exhibiting high friction force with respect to both a tire 7 and a side ditch 8 and the like, is interposed between the tire 7 consisting of a wheel 5, and the side ditch 8 and the like, the automobile 4 is moved forward and backward in such a way that the tire 7 is pushed against the aforesaid friction force generating means so as to allow the wheel 5 to ride on a road surface 9, so that the wheel 5 is restored over to the road surface 9 by itself. In this case, an automobile-use out of road wheel restoring mat 1 is used as a friction force generating means, in which each friction force generating surface exhibiting high friction force against both the tire 7 and the side ditch 8 and the like, is formed over the front and back surfaces of the mat respectively.
