To provide a restricted layer damping assembly for minimizing amplitude of resonance vibration without deteriorating damping effect by using a low loss coefficient material.
The restricted layer damping assembly 102 for a rigid base member 100 having a substantial plane 104 is provided with a gas impermeable damping layer 106 arranged on the plane 104 of the base member 100 and a load element 108 arranged on the damping layer 106. The damping layer 106 is formed with at least one clearance area 112 spread between the plane 104 and the load element 108, and the load element 108 is formed with at least one channel 114 for applying pressure lower than the pressure outside the restricted layer damping assembly 102 to the clearance area 112 in order to obtain a pressure difference between inside the clearance area 112 and outside the restricted layer damping assembly 102. The pressure difference maintains the damping layer 106 in the compressed condition, and the load element 108 and the damping layer 106 are fixed onto the base member 100.
