To provide a retainer for a roller bearing by which a crack can be prevented with the deformation and wear of the retainer carrying out prevention in forming the retainer by caulking two pieces of annularly formed body.
The retainer 1 is formed by caulking the bottom end in the right and left plate portion of an annular press-formed body 2 in a condition that a concavely annular press-formed body 3 is fitted into a reversely concavely annular press-formed body 2. Hardness of the annular press-formed body 2 of a caulking side is made lower than that of the annular press-formed body 3 to be caulked side, generation of the crack in a caulked portion is prevented, and necessary deforming strength and wear resistance as the retainer are secured in the annular press-formed body 3 to be caulked side.
