Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent abnormal wear even if lubricating grease is deteriorated, and correctly retain rolling bodies, by forming a retainer for rolling bearing out of aluminum base composites consisting of reinforcement such as ceramic fiber or grain.

CONSTITUTION: 606lAl alloy, 4032Al alloy, or the like is used as the matrix metal of aluminum base composites. Ceramic fiber or grain made of staple of silicon carbide or alumina as reinforcement is added to the Al alloy poweder, so as to form the aluminum base composites. Further the alminum base composites can be formed out of hybrid material combined together from over two sorts of reinforcement such as ceramic fiber and whiskers. Further, hybrid material formed by adding solid lubricant such as carbon fiber, boron nitride, lead powder to reinforcement can be also used. The volume fraction is set to be in a range from 10 to 30%.
