This retaining ring 200 can be fitted to a spindle 300 for attaching a rotating member G thereto. The retaining ring 200 is formed with an annular body 201 having an open end 202 having edge parts faced to each other in a part, and forming a C-shaped form, and is characterized by having a deformation part 203 deformable in opening the open end 202 on the side facing the open end 202 on the basis of an annular center P in the annular body 201.
