PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding seal material for a catalyst converter insusceptible to deterioration with the lapse of time in bearing. SOLUTION: This holding seal material for the catalyst converter 4 is composed of ceramic fiber 6 assembled in a mat shape and arranged in a gap between a catalyst carrying body 2 and a metallic shell 3 covering an outside periphery of the body 2. Each ceramic fiber 6 is partly glued by ceramic adhesive 7.
