Abstract:
To provide a retardation film that exhibits a nx>nz>ny refractive index characteristic and has an excellent crack resistance.SOLUTION: A retardation film according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: an oriented film that contains a cyclic olefin resin and exhibits a nx>nz>ny refractive index characteristic; a brittle layer formed on at least one surface of the oriented film; and a reinforcement layer provided to the outside of the brittle layer. The reinforcement layer is the cured layer of an active energy ray curable resin. In the retardation film, an intermediate layer is formed between the reinforcement layer and the brittle layer, which is a compatible region that includes a component of the reinforcement layer and a component of the brittle layer.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
