Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a retarder for trace control, if necessary, by actuating it irrespective of the driver's switching operation.
SOLUTION: If finding the vehicle will not be able to follow a curve safely in the running state at this time or the vehicle will make a turn outside of a predetermined state on the basis of a computational side gravitation or the like calculated from the detected values of a steering angle sensor 2 and a vehicle speed sensor 4, a retarder controller forcibly actuates a retarder 9 irrespective of the driver's switching to decelerate the vehicle reliably even while a transmission 6 is neutralized or the clutch is disengaged such that the retarder 9 may be used for trace control.
