To provide a retractor mounting structure of a seat belt for an automobile such as a one-box car to mount the retractor by the use of a high stiffness part of a body panel using a simple structure assuring a high strength against the tensile load from seat belt.
The retractor 6 of the seat belt 7 is installed on the intra-cabin side of the body panel 1 behind the door opening to be opened and closed by a slide door on the side of the car body, and the top of the retractor 6 is coupled with a center rail 2 for the slide door having a high stiffness installed on the body panel 1 while the bottom of the retractor 6 is coupled with a rear wheel house 4 installed under the center rail of the body panel 1, and the retractor 6 is supported from above and below by the center rail 2 and the rear wheel house 4.
