Function DB storing a plurality of information, list functions 14 and 15 judging whether a plurality of information are pertinent to given attributes or not and generating and storing the list and a function 7 displaying holding information which cannot be judged, judging whether they are applied to the attributes or not in accordance with the instruction of a setting operator and adding them to the list are provided for the retrieval supporting system. The list is not uniformly generated from the given attributes but a character picture approximated to judgment reference whose judgment is difficult is judged by the operator by viewing it and the list is generated by the precise judgment of the operator with such structure. Thus, the list based on more secure judgment compared to a former case can be generated.
