To simulate going-up/down of stairs, etc., beforehand in facilities and decide the optimum height of a step, etc., for a person returning home by adjusting the height of a step and a handrail and deciding the optimum height of the steps of the stairs and the handrail for the person returning home from the facilities.
Stairs A for returning-home simulation are composed of step plates 1, 2 having steps formed in the front/rear direction, a floor plate 3, going- up/down assist handrails 4, 5 provided on the plates 1, 2, 3, and a wall frame 6 continuously surrounding the side and the rear parts of the step plates 1, 2 and the floor plate 3. The step plates 1, 2 and the floor plate 3 are supported by a support bar whose both ends are threadly engaged with erected spiral rods and the spiral rods raise/lower the support bar by rotatably driven by a motor. The motor is normally or reversely rotated by a step raising/lowering switch 14 so that the step height of the stairs A is set.
