To reinstate the operation of an electric furnace in a short time by shortening the time of hindrance required for connecting electrodes of the electric furnace when the electrodes are snapped and also efficiently reuse the snapped electrodes.
When electrodes of an electric furnace are snapped, the snapped electrodes 7 are taken out from the electric furnace and, outside the electric furnace, an iron stake 8 is driven to a nipple 3 which is fixed to the snapped electrode 7. A wire 9 is engaged to the driven iron stake 8 and wound around the nipple 3. The wound wire 9 is then pulled with the power of a fork lift truck 10 or the like to rotate the nipple 3 wound with the wire 9, thereby taking out the nipple 3 from the snapped electrode 7. The snapped electrode 7 removed with the nipple 3 is used as a reusing electrode or a spare for the next snapping.
