PURPOSE: To provide a reversal type stirring apparatus having extremely simple constitution such that the reversal motion of stirring blade is performed by utilizing the inverse deformation force of a shape memory alloy coil.

CONSTITUTION: Stirring blades 8 are connected to a blade shaft 9 and a winding pulley 7 while a winding wire is wound around the pulley 7 and one end thereof is connected to a spring 5 to attach said wire to a case 1. The other end of the wire 2 is connected to a shape memory alloy coil 6 and the other end of the coil 6 is attached to a fixed terminal 10. In addition, a moving terminal 4 is attached to the end part of the coil 6 in the opposite side with respect to the terminal 3 and a fixed terminal 10 is attached in a case so as to contact with the terminal 4 in a room temp. state. When voltage is applied between the terminals 3, 10 constituting a contact, a current is flowed through the coil 6 to generate Joule heat while inverse transforming force is generated by shape memory effect and the coil 6 is contracted against the tensile force of the spring 5. By this mechanism, the wire 2 is pulled to rotate the blades 8 and, at the same time, the terminals 10, 4 are separated to begin to be allowed to cool and, when the contraction force thereof is lost, the blades 8 are reversely rotated by the tensile force of the spring 5.
