Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road-side device for detecting wrong-way driving whose constitution for detecting the occurrence of a wrong-way driving vehicle is made small-scale (made simpler).SOLUTION: A road-side device for detecting wrong-way driving (road-side device 1) comprises a plurality of communication devices (first communication section 13 and second communication section 14) and a control section 15. The plurality of communication devices are disposed in proximity to each other along an advancing direction on a roadside of a one-way traffic route, and are configured to be able to communicate with in-vehicle unit 2 mounted on a vehicle which runs along the route. The control section receives in-vehicle unit identification information for identifying the in-vehicle unit, via the plurality of communication devices. When the in-vehicle unit and the first communication unit out of the plurality of communication devices communicate with each other, if the in-vehicle unit identification information received via the first communication unit (first communication section 13) has not been received via the second communication unit (second communication section 14) located upstream from the first communication unit in the advancing direction, the in-vehicle unit is notified of the fact that the vehicle is a wrong-way driving vehicle which runs in a reverse direction along the route.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
