Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel reverse electrodialysis method and a utilization technique thereof, capable of performing good reverse electrodialysis operation even when an aqueous solution contains divalent or multivalent ions.SOLUTION: The reverse electrodialysis method is characterized by that cation-exchange membranes (C) and anion-exchange membranes (A) are arranged alternately, and an aqueous solution (S) with high salt concentration and an aqueous solution (R) with low salt concentration are supplied alternately to a part between each ion-exchange membrane (A,C). In the cation-exchange membrane (C) and/or the anion-exchange membrane (A), univalent ion selective permeable layers (31,41) are provided only on one surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
