Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reverse input prevention clutch capable of transmitting rotation in both of forward and reverse directions of an input shaft to an output shaft and preventing rotary torque from the output shaft from being transmitted to the input shaft. SOLUTION: A holder 14 is assembled between a conical inner face 12 of a clutch outer ring 3 provided across an input shaft 1 and an output shaft 2 and a cylindrical outer face of the output shaft 2. A tapered roller 16 is assembled in a pocket 15 of the holder 14. A cam face 17 is formed on the conical inner face 12 of the clutch outer ring 3, and the holder 14 is pressed by an elastic member 18 to engage the tapered roller 16 with the cam face 17 and a conical outer face 13. A torque engaging part 5 having a clearance in the direction of rotation is provided between the input shaft 1 and the output shaft 2. The input shaft 1 is rotated in the clearance in the direction of rotation of the torque engaging part 5 to move the holder 14 in the axial direction through a cam mechanism 19 by the rotation and put the tapered roller 16 into an engagement release condition, and the rotation of the input shaft 1 is transmitted to the output shaft 2 through the torque engaging part 5. After torque is transmitted, the tapered roller 16 is returned to an engaging position due to elasticity of the elastic member 18 to prevent the rotation of the output shaft 2 from being transmitted to the input shaft 1.
