To provide a reverse input shutoff clutch which has a simple structure and is applicable when the direction of the reverse input torque from a load is one way.
The reverse input shutoff clutch 101 is arranged between a drive part 11 and a load 12, and includes a housing 20, a rotating shaft 15, a retention cylinder 401, bearings 61, 62, a one-way clutch 30, and a torsion coil spring 50. A coil part 51 of the torsion coil spring 50 is wound in a reverse direction based on an extension part 52, and is inserted in an outer circumference surface of the rotating shaft 15 with an inner diameter enlarged. When the reverse input torque To in a forward direction is input from the load 12 to the rotating shaft 15, the retention cylinder 401 can not be rotated by the one-way clutch 30. In addition, when a limit torque Tx is set so that the reverse input torque To is smaller than the limit torque Tx, rotation of the rotating shaft 15 is restrained by friction force of the inner circumferential surface of the coil part 51 and the outer circumferential surface of the rotating shaft 15. The reverse input torque To is shut off.
