Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a reverse rotation preventive bearing device by which an output side rotary shaft can be prevented from rotating reversely by force from the side to which rotation is transmitted and rotation transmitting efficiency in normal operation can be maintained high.
CONSTITUTION: In a bearing device 10 used in a worm speed reduction device 4 having a motor output shaft 3 on which a worm 5 is installed to mesh with a worm wheel 6 connected to the output side, the device has a one-way clutch function to regulate rotation of the motor output shaft 3 by a combinational condition of a thrust load on the bearing device 10 side to be applied to the motor output shaft 3 and the rotational direction of the motor output shaft 3, and this one-way clutch function regulates the rotation of the motor output shaft 3 by bringing a taper part 11 formed on the motor output shaft 3 and clutch balls 12 formed in a bearing device into contact with each other.
