Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reverser for a water jet propulsion unit generating no turbulence for the reversion of an injection stream with the same handle operation for forward rotation and reverse rotation.
SOLUTION: The upper wall face 14b and the rear wall face 14c of a reverser 14 reversing the advance direction of a ship are formed into a curved surface, and the lower face section 14d is expanded. The angle of the side wall face 14e of the reverser 14 against the center line of a discharge casing 7 is made larger than the maximum rudder angle of a deflector, and the cross sectional shape of the reverser 14 is made a fan shape. The collision of the injected stream from the deflector with the side wall face 14e is resolved, the injected stream is reversed in the right and left opposite directions, and the operation performance at the time of reverse rotation is improved.
