Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce an aldehyde in a sufficient reaction rate by using the hydroformylation catalyst consisting of Rh compd. and the organophosphorus compd. having a tert. amine residual group and a tert. phosphorus group having a coordinating ability to the Rh compd. in the case of hydroformylation of an ethylenically unsatd. compd.
CONSTITUTION: In the reaction converting the ethylenically unsatd. compd. to a corresponding aldehyde by the reaction with CO and H, the catalyst to be used is composed of the component (a) and (b) shown in the following. In the method in which (a) Rh compd. and (b) the organophosphorus compd. having the tert. amine residual group and the tert. phosphorus group having a coordinating ability to the Rh compd. are ionized reversibly, the catalyst is brought into contact and react with water and CO2, and the catalyst is ionized by converting the tert. amine residual group to ammonium carbonate. The organophosphorus compd. of the component (b) is given in the formula. But in the formula, R1 is hydrocarbon group, R2 is H, etc., (m) is 1-3, (n) is 0 and 1, (x) is 0 2, (y) and (z) are 0-3 and X1 and X2 are H.
