To provide a reversible receiver capable of suppressing excessive increase in refrigerant pressure during heating operation even when the number of indoor units is reduced in a multi-type air conditioner, and the air conditioner.
The reverse direction receiver includes: a container 51 storing a refrigerant therein; one piping 52A which is extended from the lower side to the upper side of the container 51 and has an opening 53A at an upper end thereof and through which the air conditioner makes a refrigerant flow in to the container 51 during cooling operation and makes the refrigerant flow out from the container 51 during heating operation; and the other piping 52B which is extended from the lower side to the upper side of the container 51 and has an opening 53B at an upper end thereof and through which the air conditioner makes the refrigerant flow out from the container 51 during cooling operation and makes the refrigerant flow in to the container 51 during heating operation. The one piping 52A is extended to a more upper side compared to the other piping 52B, and a communication hole 54 interconnecting the one piping 52A and inside of the container 51 is provided on a lateral face in a region of the one piping 52A arranged within the container 51.
