Abstract:
To provide a reversible thermochromic composition that uses a specific compound as an electron-accepting compound to express a reversible thermochromic function, and a reversible thermochromic microcapsule pigment containing the same.SOLUTION: A reversible thermochromic composition includes: (a) an electron-donating colorable organic compound; (b) a compound of formula (1) as an electron-accepting compound; and (c) a reaction medium that causes an electron exchange reaction between the components (a) and (b) to occur in a specific temperature range in reversible manner. There is also provided a reversible thermochromic microcapsule pigment containing the same. (In formula (1), R1-R5 independently represent a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a nitro group, an amino group, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group or the like).SELECTED DRAWING: None
