Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2016153480
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide reversibly crosslinked, water-soluble cellulose ethers which on dissolution in water do not liberate any low molecular weight aldehydes or dialdehydes associated with health concerns, e.g. glyoxal.SOLUTION: Reversibly crosslinked, water-soluble cellulose ethers comprise at least two different ether components. At least one ether component is an alkyl, hydroxyalkyl or carboxymethyl group, and at least one is an alkyl group having an aldehyde function which forms hydrolyzable hemiacetals with free OH groups of the cellulose ether.SELECTED DRAWING: None
