To improve workability by providing a suction pad to a vertically moving arm capable of elevating and descending along a post upward/downward reversible and sucking a work placed on a work pedestal with the suction pad and reversing to perform the reversing work and the coating work only by one worker.
In the case of coating the front and rear surfaces of a wood- made top plate as the work W, the suction pad 31 (-34) faces downward and the vertically moving arm 4 is elevated to a prescribed height position. Next, a truck 49 with casters of the work pedestal, on which the work W is placed, is transported to an elevator 48 and the upper side surface of the work W on the truck 49 is sucked with the suction pad 31. After that, the suction pad 31 is reversed upward to turn the work W inside out and in this state, the upward surface of the work W is coated. After the coating is finished, the suction pad 31 is reversed downward to turn the work W inside out and the work W is placed on the truck 49 by cancelling the suction state and the surface of the upward side of the work W is coated.
