Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the dressed amount of a form grinding wheel moderate.
SOLUTION: A form dresser 4 is brought close to a specified position in the direction of infeed of the dresser toward a form grinding wheel 2, as shown in Fig. When the form dresser 4 is brought close to the specified position, the form dresser 4 is moved to the right side in the direction of thickness of the form grinding wheel 2 to determine a position dz1 at which the form dresser contacted the form grinding wheel 2. Next, the form dresser 4 is moved to the left side to determine a position dz2 at which the dresser contacted the form grinding wheel 2. Based on the determined positions dz1, dz2, a target position X in the direction of thickness of the form dresser 4 is determined. The present position of the form dresser 4 is positioned to the determined target position X. After that, the form dresser 4 is advanced in the direction of infeed to dress the form grinding wheel 2.
