PURPOSE: To prevent irradiation of those other than a lesion with radiation while irradiating the lesion evenly even if the shape is non-spherical by turning a revolving chair on which a patient sits and shifting the center position of irradiating the lesion with radiation by means of an X, Y, Z axis-wise sliding mechanism.
CONSTITUTION: A patient 61 sits on a revolving chair 62 and receives a radiation beam 64 from an electron beam linear acceleration irradiator 63 toward the center of a lesion 65. A head fixing device 68 is mounted at a specified position of the revolving chair 62 by changing an angle of a back rest 66 or adjusting a fixing part 67 at the revolving chair 62. In the apparatus as mentioned above, the position and the shape of the lesion 65 are analyzed based on image information obtained by a CT scanning of the lesion 5. Then, the lesion 65 is irradiated entirely with the radiation beam 64 according to the analyzed results. Thus, the center of rotation of the revolving chair 63 is moved in axes X and Y separately with a sliding mechanism not illustrated in the figure while a seat part is moved in axes X, Y and Z separately.
