Title:
BEARING SEAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3136314
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve sealability and fixation performance by applying and setting liquefied seal member to an outer surface of a bent portion of an outer peripheral edge of a seal ring, specifying the range of its thickness to obtain a bearing seal, mounting the bent portion into a cut groove of the bearing, and tightening and stretching in the radial direction for installation.
CONSTITUTION: A bent portion 21 is formed on an outer peripheral edge of a seal ring 2 made of metal or the like. Liquefied seal member is applied and set to an outer peripheral surface of the bent portion 21 by thickness of 10 to 300 micrometers to obtain a bearing seal. The bent portion 21 is mounted on a cut groove 4 of a bearing outer ring 1, followed by caulking by a press-fit jig. An outer peripheral edge is stretched in the radial direction and installed into the cut groove 4. It is thus possible to bring the liquefied seal member into close contact with the cut groove through pressing the bent portion of the bearing seal, and show strong sealability and fixation performance.
