Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a rewetting tackiness preventing agent containing a substituted succinic acid (derivative) as an active ingredient and capable of efficiently providing coated paper free from tackiness in rewetting in applying to paper which require much coating amount of paper surface processing agent of starch, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A substituted succinic acid and/or substituted succinic acid derivative (e.g. octenylsuccinic anhydride) and a salt of a polyvalent metal and/or a complex of a polyvalent metal (e.g. zinc chloride) are blended as active components to afford the objective rewetting tackiness preventing agent of coated paper. Then, the agent is mixed with an aqueous solution of paper surface processing agent (e.g. starch oxide) and the mixture is immediately stirred and emulsified for 2min at 15000rpm using a homogenizer to prepare a coating liquid and this coating liquid is applied to paper by a blade coater or a roll coater to provide coated paper free from tackiness in rewetting even when applied to paper requiring much coating amount of paper surface processing agent of starch, etc.
