Abstract:
A pneumatic splicer (7) has a controlled water supply (26) to assist the splicing action with difficult yarns. A capacitance sensor (13) in the yarn clearer (8) is connected to an evaluation unit (12) to produce an alarm signal if the moisture content drops below a threshold value, e.g. 0.02 ml below the target value, which is kept below 0.15 ml, especially below 0.1 ml.
