PURPOSE: To enhance the adhesive force of a recording film and protective films and to stabilize the repetitive operations of recording and erasing by incorporating at least ≥1 kinds of elements of the main constituting elements of the recording film into the base material of the protective films adjacent to the recording film.
CONSTITUTION: The protective film 12, the recording film 13, the protective film 14, and a metallic film 15 are successively laminated on a transparent substrate 11. A glass substrate is used for the substrate 11, SiO2 contg. at least one kind of the main constituting elements of the film 13 for the films 12 and 14, and an Al alloy or the like for the film 15. The films 12 to 14 are formed by a high-frequency magnetron sputtering method, etc. The films 12 and 14 are formed by using an SiO2 target and a target consisting of at least one kind of the main constituting elements, such as Ge, Te and Sb constituting the film 13, and by a two-dimensional simultaneous sputtering method or are formed by sputtering using the composite target. The repetitive operations of recording and erasing can be stably executed ≥105 times.
