To simplify the operation of fixing a ribbon cassete to a recording device and the operation of the movement of a ribbon guide between a stored position and a retreated position.
The ribbon guide 17 is moved between the stored position and the retreated position by the operation of the operation lever 28 of a driving shaft 25 and a cassette-side fixing pawl 33 is locked to a device-side fixing pawl. An elastic first spring 30 which is in a contracted state, in a free state is attached to a support member 26 fixed to the outer circumferential edge of the driving shaft 25. The first spring 30 energizes the support member 26, so as to place the ribbon guide 17 at the retreated position by the contracting force of the first spring 30, so that the first spring 30 fixes the ribbon guide 17 to the retreated position.
