Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a means for measuring density of characters actually printed so as to compare with a reference value and displaying an alarm when it becomes thinner than the reference value, in a ribbon density monitor system for an impact printer.
CONSTITUTION: A threshold as a reference print density is held and compared with a measured value of a print density on a medium printed by a printing ribbon 6 and a print head 5. A ribbon exchange instruction is displayed in accordance with output of the result obtained by the comparison.
