To obtain a rice ball, rolled in laver and excellent in adhesion, sanitary properties and long-term keeping quality without causing a part of residual air by sandwiching the top and undersurface of a rice ball between two sheets of the laver, pressing the central parts of the laver and covering the lateral face of the rice ball with outer peripheral parts of the laver to the outside of the rice ball.

This rice ball 1 rolled in laver is obtained by bringing the central parts of two mutually opposite independent sheets 2 and 2' of laver into contact with the top surface and undersurface of the rice ball 1, covering the lateral face 1' of the rice ball 1 with outer peripheral parts 2" of the sheets 2 and 2' of the laver extended to the outside of the rice ball 1. The two sheets 2 and 2' of the laver are preferably nearly a regular square and mutually crossed at 45° angle.
