To provide a rice cooker performing induction heating by a heating coil, which makes it possible to restrain a rise in temperature of a rice cooker body and articles placed outside of the rice cooker body by decreasing a level of leakage magnetic field near the rice cooker by inhibiting power supply to the rice cooker when it is judged that a position of a loop wire is out of place.
A pot 2 is removably stored in the rice cooker body and heated by a pot heating part 4. A container 6 for generating steam is heated by induction heating using the heating coil 7. A control means 15 controls amount of electric power supplied by the electric power supplying means 16 for supplying the power to the heating coil 7. At least one conductive loop wire 10 is arranged outside of the heating coil 7 so that an out-of-position detecting means 18 detects whether the loop wire 10 is out of place. When the out-of-position detecting means 18 detects the loop wire 10 to be out of place, the control means 15 controls the electric power supplying means 16 so as to restrain amount of the electric power supplied to the heating coil 7.
